CAROLINE CHAMBERLIN HELLMAN

I completed my BA at Wellesley College and my PhD at the CUNY Graduate Center. I am currently a Professor of English at City Tech, CUNY, subsequent to serving as Interim Special Assistant to the President for two years. A member of the President’s Cabinet, I oversaw the Office of Communications, directing and coordinating critical campus communications, conceptualizing advertising and marketing campaigns to support enrollment initiatives, facilitating media relations, and cultivating community. Returning to teaching and program administration has enabled experimentation with career readiness integration, online teaching strategies, and professional development for faculty, all with a focus on student success and retention. Whether authoring a book on American literary history, a newspaper article on higher education, or an institutional report, I am dedicated to honoring the stories of people and places, past and present, chronicling the hopes and dreams that bring us together. As a professor and administrator, I have long been invested in student access, equity, and excellence. I look forward to future leadership opportunities in higher ed.
